THE CHILDREN OF THE EARTH: ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION WITH THE SEM TERRINHA IN THE SETTLEMENT CHICO MENDES III

Abstract

A environmental education project were carried out in 2011 at the Chico Mendes III settlement, located in the municipality of São Lourenço da Mata-PE, involving 14 children. Seven workshops were launched which were presented in a detailed way, with objectives, pedagogical proposal, procedures and description. The results showed positive repercussions on children's attitudes, which were more sensitive to nature's appeal, as well as triggering situations that allowed the dialogue on environmental questions in the family nucleus.
