THE PERMANENCE OF THE YOUNG ON THE FIELD: AN ANALYSIS FOR THE SOUTHWEST OF PARANÁ

Abstract

The objective of this research was to verify which are the factors that influence the permanence and exit of young people from the rural zone. We conducted an interview with 52 students of the third year of a technical course in agriculture located in Francisco Beltrão/PR. The results show that the main factors that influence young people to stay or leave the countryside are the size of rural properties, the mechanization of properties, dialogue with parents and participation in decision-making in the property, and the leisure options in the countryside.
