Abstract

Motherhood is a construction that deepens after the birth of the baby. However, events can go through this experience, surprising and mobilizing intensely the woman, such as the loss of the child. The present work aims to discuss the formative process of the psychologist in training and understand the situations related to perinatal loss and the performance of Psychology, from the immersion of a psychology student via professional internship in a maternity hospital in northeastern Brazil  over two semesters of school. It is, therefore, a report of experience woven by the revisitation of cartographic diaries produced by the psychology intern. During the meetings with mothers who went through the situation of loss of the baby, it was possible to realize how powerful this formative moment was in the experience of becoming a psychologist. Through the visits, it was evidenced that perinatal loss is a significant event in the lives of women and family members, such an event is more sermane when one can count on the support of significant people and psychological attention.
