DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION TO FAVOR THE PROFESSIONAL CHOICE OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

Career Guidance helps young people to choose a career, contributes to their insertion in the job market and to the construction of their professional trajectory. An important step in this process is obtaining information about the professions. The Conhecer Mais Project aimed to disseminate information about different professions, the structure of undergraduate courses and student assistance programs in public universities. An initial survey was carried out with high school students and the mentioned professions were included in the project, with interviews in weekly lives, broadcast on Youtube from CEPPSI. 86.8% of the 109 responses to the initial survey were from public school students. Seven (07) lives were held with the participation of 18 professionals in total, covering the areas of Humanities (N=8), Health (N=7) and Exacts (N=3) with a total of approximately 783 views. Three informative videos were also produced on the structure of undergraduate courses in the areas of Humanities, Health and Exact Sciences, and one video on student assistance programs at public universities in the region. The project achieved the proposed objectives and provided information in an accessible way, contributing to the process of professional choice of high school students, mainly from the public school system.
