The debate on the health of the black population is relevant inside and outside black communities in rural or urban areas. This report expresses experiences acquired during a Scientific Initiation project in Quilombola and Rural Remaining Communities. Through a quali-quantitative approach, it analyzed families with an endogamous profile, estimating apparently healthy children, with some disease or anomaly, cases of spontaneous abortion and/or stillbirth. Of the illnesses found, cases associated with mental disorders, visual and heart problems, limb malformations, polydactyly, diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, and cases of allergies were noted. An extension event was also held, to dialogue, and debate public policies, the health of the black and rural population, how to inform the population about the consequence of inbreeding, and ways of preventing pathologies associated with genetics.
