Artistic gymnastics: a proposal of application

Abstract

This article aims to present the results of the extension project “Artistic Gymnastics for all” developed at the Center for Physical Education and Sport, State University of Londrina (in the state of Paraná) from 2009 to 2011. Twenty-eight teachers of public state schools participated in the projetc along with five professors from the State University of Londrina-PR, who guided and supervised 184 undergrate students of Physical Education and Bachelor of Science in Sport, and 28 state schools in Londrina and the Metropolitan Region. During the pedagogical practices of initiation into artistic gymnastics, they applied the theoretical and practical courses of the discipline. 700 girls aged 10-12 years and of different socioeconomic classes participated in the project. The undergraduate students concluded their educational experience with the children’s UEL Cup of Gymnastics in the Londrinense School Tournament (TORNESCOLON), Festivals and Recreational Artistic Gymnastics.
