Production of sanitizing products: alternative source of income

Abstract

This experience report was drawn from an extension project, which aimed to contribute to the development and production of sanitizing guided by scientific knowledge and committed to environmental issues, aiming to provide an alternative source of income for the community in need of Teófilo Otoni, with special attention to Bairro Jardim Sao Paulo where the Campus Mucuri of the Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri (UFVJM) is placed. We conducted a search of sanitizing scripts, then these have been optimized in order to establish quantitative and qualitative reagents used. In sequence, the cleaning products (detergents, soaps, liquid soaps, solids and slurry), after which the external community was invited to participate in workshops on environmentally friendly actions with respect to the use of waste edible oils in the manufacture of disinfectants were developed.
