Proposal for Sustainable Development for the Nossa Senhora de Fátima Settlement Project

Abstract

This study aims to identify problems and propose solutions to the sustainable development of the Settlement Project Nossa Senhora de Fátima, located in Petrolina-PE. The SP was created by INCRA through the Regional Superintendent of the middle São Francisco - RS-29, for the settlement of 80 families of rural workers in a total area of 3786.4074 ha, each family lot got 33.17 ha for production. The settlement goes through a productive structuring process with the need to implement new technologies in aid of the sustainability of the project, considering the socio-cultural fi eld as a priority in the quest for independence of these families, being necessary to carry out educational activities and entertainment that encourage cooperative and associations in the pursuit of entrepreneurship in the production and marketing of processed products produced by them.
