HEALTH PROMOTION ACTIONS IN MUNICIPAL FAIRS: AN ACCOUNT OF EXPERIENCE

Abstract

To report the experiences of nursing students in the development of activities of an extension project entitled "Awareness of parasitic diseases in municipal fairs of Petrolina / PE: The university beyond the walls". It is a descriptive study, of the type of experience report. It was possible to perceive that these actions arouse the interest and enthusiasm of the population of the marketers and merchants, and it is perceived that the individual provides an important element for the construction of a better society, since it becomes capable of making discoveries, inventing and, consequently, change. The population was grateful for the initiative and expressed themselves with great interest and enthusiasm. Corroborating with the importance of community engagement as one of the fundamental aspects for the implementation of actions to control infectious and parasitic diseases. The importance of awareness through the playful teaching of parasites is perceived, not only for the human and critical formation of the individual, but also as a tool to promote their well-being.
