MATHEMATICS TRAIL: A PROJECT ON EXTENT

Abstract

The Mathematics Trail was made up of a series of teaching and scientific dissemination activities that took place during 2017 National Science and Technology Week, which had as its theme "Mathematics is in everything". The main objective of this extension action was to bring mathematics science closer to the community. The activities included lectures, workshops, exhibition and theater and took place mostly in non-academic spaces. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the activities showed that the initial goals were reached, that the results were positive and that, in fact, the action allowed a better approximation between mathematical science and the community.
