THE MANAGEMENT OF BREASTFEEDING AND IMPROVEMENT OF PREGNANT WOMEN / BREASTFEEDERS IN THE BREASTFEEDING PROCESS THROUGH HEALTH EDUCATION

Abstract

Breastfeeding is a significant and effective practice for a child's growth and development, as well as enhancing the mother-infant bond, expressing feelings of affection and protection. Its benefits also imply maternal health, as well as its exercise impacts on the health indicators of the whole society. However, it is not just a behavioral impulse. Thus, considering the importance of the theme in question, the extension of the extension project “The management of breastfeeding and the improvement of the daily life of pregnant women in the process of breastfeeding” had as objective oriented as pregnant women and nursing mothers attended in a Basic Unit. Health Department in the municipality of Petrolina, Pernambuco, regarding the management of breastfeeding, in order to promote improvements in their daily life during the breastfeeding process.
