Abstract

The Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is characterized by a continued hyperglycemia, due to a shortfall in the production of insulin or on its action, being the type 1 and 2 the most commons. This study aimed to analyze the epidemiological profile of patients with diabetes mellitus that looked for SAMU in the city of Araguaina-TO in the year 2019. The research had bibliographic basis, later the information was taken by a field study, exploratory, descriptive, documental, quantitative, and analyzes based on simple statistics. It was observed that the female gender had bigger evidence in the attendance, giving emphasis for the elderly 250 (73%), also characterized with high glycemic value 201(59%) and associated diabetic and hypertensive with 220 (65%). It was concluded that the nursing is fundamental in health education, having as a result the reduction on calling SAMU, when facing complications.
