Abstract

Language and, consequently, communication, are decisive and present tools in the life of humanity. It is understood that language plays an indispensable role in understanding the world. This paper shows a study that approaches concepts related to language and communication, showing how such tools are essential for the construction of an egalitarian, inclusive and non-sexist culture. The objective of this project is to provide equality through language, especially gender equality, considering that words to name the collectivity are put with the figure of man as unique and generic. In addition, it is intended to generate discussions on this topic, that is, to disseminate issues regarding language as a tool for inclusion and recognition of women. In the methodology, readings of materials on the topic were carried out, live meetings were carried out on the YouTube platform with specialized guests and an experienced guest in gender language and inclusive language, respectively. Posts via Instagram and reports were produced after each conversation. Given the significant numbers of live interactions, with the posts via Instagram and views of the videos (including recorded), the need for discussion on the topics is evident.

Professora assistente do curso de Bacharelado de Engenharia de Produção na Universidade Federal do Vale do São Francisco (UNIVASF), Campus Salgueiro, Colegiado de Engenharia de Produção. Doutora e Mestra em Biometria e Estatística Aplicada, pela UFRPE. Realizou estágio sanduíche na UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DEL SUR, Bahia Blanca, Argentina no departamento de INGENIERÍA ELÉCTRICA Y DE COMPUTADORAS pelo Programa MINCYT, tendo a CAPES como instituição de fomento. Graduada pela UFPE em Bacharel em Estatística, 2014.

Marcella Feitosa dos Santos, CODAI/UFRPE

Professora de Matemática do Ensino Básico Técnico e Tecnológico no Colégio Agrícola Dom Agostinho Ikas da UFRPE (CODA/UFRPE). Possui Licenciatura Plena em Matemática (2013) e Mestrado em Biometria e Estatística Aplicada (2017) pela Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco.

Mayara Benício de Barros Souza, UNIVASF

Possui graduação em Sistemas de Informação pela Universidade de Pernambuco (2010) e mestrado em Ciências da Computação pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2013). Atualmente é professora da Universidade Federal do Vale do São Francisco, Campus Salgueiro, Colegiado de Ciência da Computação (CCICOMP). Tem experiência na área de Engenharia de Software.
