Experience report of the Integrated System of Libraries of Univasf

Abstract

Fostering reading, training readers and valuing book culture for access to diverse information enables the exercise of citizenship and is part of the extensionist policies developed by Libraries. In this context, the purpose of this experience report is to present extension projects developed by SIBI/UNIVASF as alternatives to encourage reading. It was used in the methodology, the bibliographical research, associated to the methodological procedure of qualitative nature, making use of the narrative method and as for the technique constitutes a case study. The results revealed that the extension projects of SIBI/Univasf with the purpose of stimulating the culture of the book and literature in general, favors approximation of the Library/Universities with the local population.
