Abstract

This work aims to contribute with the discussions about the methodology to be used to deploy production systems with agroecological principles in irrigated areas. This proposal aims to replace the prevailing conventional system whose base of support is the use of synthetic chemical inputs. The strategy used was based on the Paulo Freire's theory, so the value of knowledge of the producers was recognized at each stage of the production process. ATER added to their knowledge methodological elements that could facilitate the spread of those ideas, so the producers could be the protagonists of the learning relationship. The results achieved were consolidated by the organic certifi cation given to some of the production units that make part of an organization with organic principles.
