Abstract

This is a report of an extension aimed to host a felt and identified during extension actions developed in a public hospital in 2012 to develop activities directed at the caregiver who constantly experiences death in their everyday professional needs. The realization of the activities took place in the basement for Culture Circle of Paulo Freire as a method for sharing the experiences of workers, together with the scientific approach concerning the matter, brought by scholars and professors of nursing at the Federal University of South Border. Experiments show how the health team is unstructured and tends to act only technically during the process of death and dying, making this deficient in some aspects and frustrating health professionals, disqualifying the assistance provided.
