Abstract

This paper aims at describing the home visit in attention to users of alcohol and other drugs in Santo Antônio de Jesus-Ba. This practice constituted an intervention proposed by PET-Health with the purpose of promoting links between professionals of Primary Care and the Centre for Psychosocial Care (CAPS). Home visits to four users who had discontinued treatment at CAPS AD and two workshops with professional teams of the Family Health Unit and the mental health service visits were made. From the analysis of this experience recorded in a fi eld diary, we identified the potential of this strategy for attention with users of alcohol and other drugs, continuing education, and the structuring of an integrated network of care. Finally, we highlight the contribution of PET-Health for training and qualifying students and health professionals.
