Abstract

The present work gathers information on the number of urban gardens in the municipality of Petrolina-PE and records the relationship between entomofauna and plant species cultivated in these environments. The information was recorded from April to September 2015. Nineteen gardens were identified and visited, mostly in regions such as the outskirts of the city. In an area of approximately 48,000 m², a profile with information on the number and diversity of cultivated plant species, in addition to the main pests and natural enemies present in agroecosystems. The results obtained support the indication of alternative methods of pest control, such as the use of intercropping consortia. This method is based mainly on the characteristics of law or repellency that some plants exert damage without the need for other control measures. on insects and mites.
