Abstract

The cancer care services under the Unified Health System (SUS) and the National Cancer Care Policy play an important role in the strategies of actions to control malignant neoplasms. This research is a systematic review of the literature and aimed to discuss health policies aimed at prevention, control and treatment of cancer. Starting from the Problem: Oncology care services in the SUS reach in a timely manner who needs it? Based on the contributions of
authors such as Parada (2008), Oliveira (2011) and Atty & Tomazelli (2018), it was possible to verify that health policies aimed at the prevention, control and treatment of cancer, as well as the expansion of patient care services oncological challenges are to be faced, because when the cancer care services do not reach a wide territorial coverage, it compromises the early diagnosis and impacts on the treatment options for cancer patients.
