Abstract

One of the purposes of education is to provide the student with conditions to develop criticality in the face of the reality that surrounds him. Thus, it is necessary to know the characteristics of the students, so that the educational institution can promote appropriate actions for its target audience. For this purpose, the present study sought, through the application of questionnaires to students in Bandeirantes/PR, to ascertain their profile and also their understanding of the right to socio-racial quotas. The results show that most public school students are unaware of the right to quotas and we call attention to the need for the University to act more effectively in disseminating and promoting this right.
