We aim to report our personal experience as part of an extension project on sexual diversity regarding the effectiveness of the application of a game as an alternative pedagogical
method to promote the discussion of cross-cutting themes about sexuality, gender and sexual diversity in second year students of a public high school located in the city of Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, Brazil. The dynamics with the students consisted in the application of an educational game on transversal themes related to sexuality originated from the adaptation of the game Scotland Yard, produced by the company Grow®. The choice of the game as a pedagogical technology proved to be quite effective because through a playful and thought-provoking methodology, made it possible for students to exercise their abilities of logic and reasoning, reviewed the curricular contents of previous years, and still discussed with each other and with teachers in the classroom about the cases and proposed topics.
