Abstract

Youth is an important time for decision-making and identity construction, in which the school will play a fundamental role in this process. However, for young people in socially vulnerable situations, this environment can be unstimulating and challenging. To try to overcome these obstacles, schools have been challenged to innovate their pedagogical practices, with youth clubs being a way of encouraging young people's engagement in school life. This report seeks to describe an extension experience of creating a documentary with a youth club made up of second-year high school students from a public school in the state of Alagoas. The documentary, divided into four acts, expresses the relationship between young people and school and their desires for the future. The intervention, subsidized by the framework of social occupational therapy, enabled the creation of an environment that encourages the establishment of autonomy, protagonism and reflection for the young people involved.
